We make music because we love it but when it takes up all our time and money (because all the other industry professionals have to actually get paid) then we make sacrifices, sometimes giving up secure jobs because we simply don’t have time for both.
Can a woman live on music alone? No we need bread too. Unfortunately because of the decline in people paying for music and the rise in streaming it has virtually become impossible to do this.
We released our album in October 2019 on bandcamp and physical CD only, with the intention to do a worldwide digital streaming and vinyl release this year. We’re not going to lie, our figures haven’t been great, not because we eat too much (no cheeky remarks) but because we seriously couldn’t justify investing the time and money into Spotify for the small amount of revenue it would generate.

Simple Spotify Summary
Pros: π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦π¨βπ©βπ¦βπ¦ more people discover our music
Cons: π noone buys it and we go hungry π§ reduced sound quality for the listener
So do we stream for the dream of just making music and getting it out to the world or do we value our art and only sell our music for what it’s actually worth?
To Spotdefy or Spotify???
